ASIAN CLUB CHALLENGE

 

History 

The Asian Club Challenge was first run in Season 68. I created this custom cup in the hope that the best Asian Teams would compete for the title of Asian Club Champion for each season. The Season 68 cup had 16 positions, this was expanded to 32 positions from Season 69 and out to 64 teams for Season 74. From Season 98 the cup has been reduced to 32 positions.

To date the cup has been keenly contested with many of the top Asian teams competing. The cup is set to run on the first Saturday of every season, making for an excellent pre-season warm-up. This allows Asian teams to get in some quality training matches before the first training camp and session. This allows ample opportunity for fitness to be regained before the round 1 League matches.
